Saturday and Sunday 7 and 8 October are the weekend of Support Life Sunday 2023. The theme this year is Te Kahu o te Ora - A Consistent Ethic of Life. The work being done includes an extensive revision and updating of the bishops’ statement of that name from 1997, creating a new teaching document which is now available.
The bishops' Nathaniel Centre for bioethics is preparing extensive resources for this. The first of these are ready – the National Liturgy Office's liturgical resources for parishes. They started being sent to parishes on 12 September.
The rest of the resources will follow as they are prepared. The resources will be sent to dioceses and parishes, and also published on this web page as they become available.
Two Powerpoint slides for screening at Mass on 7 and 8 October are available for downloading.

Te Kahu o te Ora-A Consistent Ethic of Life
As part of Support Life Sunday 2023, New Zealand’s Catholic bishops have updated and expanded for the 2020s an important 1997 document that inspires the positive active protection and promotion of all life. This revised version of Te Kahu o te Ora-A Consistent Ethic of Life reminds us that all life is a gift from God. Download a PDF copy of Te Kahu o te Ora here.

This document contains all the messaging for Support Life Sunday 2023 that parishes might use in their communications. It uses the captions being created for social media posting in another way for parishes to use, and it follows an order that will likely be suggested for social media posting.
